Description: Welcome to the new Sandvik Coromant CoroPlus Tool Library add-in for Fusion 360. This fully integrated application runs inside Fusion 360 and seamlessly links to Sandvik Coromant’s online database of tooling and machining data. The add-in helps streamline the selection of cutting tools, tool holder assemblies, and cutting parameters by providing recommended feeds and speeds to suit the stock material being machined, and the unique characteristics of the CNC machine being used. If you’re still using paper tooling catalogs and entering data into Fusion 360 manually, this add-in is for you. Watch this video series to learn how the add-in can save you time and money, and help you make better use of your CNC machine and cutting tools. In this 5-part video series, we’ll discuss the new add-in and explain how it was used inside Fusion 360 to generate 3- and 5-axis toolpaths to machine a titanium aerospace part. The NC programs were then run on a Hermle C50 5-axis machine, installed in the Autodesk Technology Center in the UK. In this specific video, Autodesk's Richard Stubley and Ben Lodge of Sandvik Coromant focus on drilling and thread milling holes in the titanium aerospace component. They’ll explain which tool geometry to use to successfully process this challenging material, and then explain why they chose to use thread milling instead of tapping. Richard also provides a step-by-step guide to using the Sandvik Coromant CoroPlus Tool Library add-in to help program the part in Fusion 360.
